M.R.I. by Sammy Kovnat

my body was 3D printed inside of a narrow

plastic / pink / noisy

vaginal canal once

/ twice /

my hands were motionless

clamped down

molecules pulled into a black hole of electro-magnetic energy

/ on me /

/ my parts /

/ my image /

on screens and in a womb

plastic / dense / magnetic

both created and captured

in an instant

birthed by

/ human hands /

computer screens

and that loud ringing

screeching of a printer furiously translating information

from one realm to the next

imaging me

birthed from

plastic / flesh / sweat

and noises so loud I will never get them out of my head

the first screams of life
